Create Joy In Life

Real happiness, real Joy and Bliss is within all of us. Within us is the mighty ocean of nectar. Seek it within you, feel it, feel it, it is here. It is not the body the mind, the intellect, it is not the desires or desiring; it is not the objects of desiring; above all these ye are, All these are manifestations. Ye are All existent, All knowledge and All Bliss.

एक नूर से सब जग उपजया कौन भले, कौन मंदे

We are eternal full of knowledge and Bliss.  We are dreaming that we are a material body.  A king dreamt that he was a beggar. So in spite of being the repository of All Divinity and Bliss, we consider ourselves the combination of few molecules to be disintegrated sooner or later.  We have erected a huge wall of ego around our true Being that we completely lose sight of our Blissful nature.

Sh. Ravindra Nath Tagore describes it explicitly in Gitanjali:

He whom I enclose with my name is weeping in this dungeon (prison of mind).  I am ever busy building this wall all around and as this wall goes up into the Sky day by day I lose sight of my true Being (All Joy) in its black shadow.

I take pride in this great wall as I plaster it with dust and sand lest a hole should be left in this name, and for all the care I take I lose sight of my true Being.

In fact my true Being which is all Joy and All Bliss was given mind or ego as a servant i.e. mind was in the Being but now tables are turned. Mind has become the master and True Being is seen nowhere. That is why Joy has disappeared from our lives.  Cart is put before the horse.  There is a sea of suffering all around. In words of Swami Vivekananda “Man is a tiny boat in a tempest (*) raised one moment on the foamy crest of a billow and dashed down into a yawning Charm the next, rolling to and fro at the mercy of good and bad actions - a powerless, a helpless wreck in an ever raging, ever rushing, uncompromising current of cause and effect, a little moth placed under the wheel of causation which rolls on crushing everything in the way and works not for the widow's tears or the orphan's cry. The heart sinks at the idea. Yet this is the law of nature.

Is there no hope?  Is there no escape?  - was the cry that went up from the heart of despair.  It reached the throne of Mercy and words of hope and consolation came down "Hear, ye children of Immortal Bliss, you are the sharers of Immortal Bliss, holy and perfect beings. Ye divinities on earth - sinners!  It is a sin to call a man so; it is a standing libel to call on human nature.  Come up O lions and shake off the delusion that you are sheep.  You are soul’s immortal, spirits free, blest and eternal. You are not matter you are not bodies, matter (mind) is your servant, not you the servant of matter (mind).

The aim of Vishvas Meditation is to attain our mastership over mind and enjoy everlasting Bliss which is our true nature and which has not to be created. Vishvas Meditation is not done to control the mind because every control leads to repression.  It is just like a serpent which appears to be dead due to cold and starvation.  Once feed and heat are given, it starts hissing and even bites.  Once the fangs are taken out, it does not matter whether it is alive or dead.  Once we realise our true nature joyful and blissful Self, mind will be our loyal servant. Till then, we have to go beyond mind.

We are not to wage any war against mind by various techniques of controlling it or focusing it on any point.  We are simply to watch it and watch its doings without any involvement in them. Watching creates a distance between us and the mind. At the moment, we and the mind are one.  Rather we are at the mercy of mind.  We are happy when mind is cheerful and are gloomy when mind is depressed whereas our true nature is All Joy which we don't have to create.  All we have to do is to face us from the shackles of mind.

Meditation is laying aside the mind and going beyond mind.  Silently, peacefully, without hurry, without any tension, without any anguish, without any stress or strain, watch your thoughts, watch your mind and step into your Self, inner Self, true Self, Blissful self immediately. Make it urgent unless meditation is made urgent, it does not happen and you will die before it make it most important, number one on the top of your laundry list.  At the moment it is at the end of your laundry list which never finishes though, we will be finished.  So in order to have joy in life we must make meditation most urgent.

No effort is needed to create joy in life and no effort is needed for meditation or controlling the mind, Meditation is an effortless effort with complete relaxation and no stress and strain with a humming voice coming from within

"दिल के आईने में है तस्वीरे-यार, जब जरा गर्दन झुकाई देख ली"

Meditation provides Bliss beyond expression but it is not result - oriented Meditation is for sake of meditation. It is not for any result.  If you want any result, meditation is not for you.

Meditation creates a situation, ground and surrounding in which the seed becomes alive.  Seed is Atman, Seed is soul and you don't have to find the seed. Seed is always there and it sprouts and becomes a plant in proper situation, surrounding and ground. Of course, silence comes out of it, peace comes out of it's and divine comes out of it but they are not the consequences.

So let us do the meditation without any stress and strain or without any desire. Let us be witness to our thoughts and mind without any indulgence or interference.

Be a witness to joy and sorrow.

Be a witness to success or failure.

Have a firm faith that

You are a witness and

You are not a body.

You are not a mind.

You are not thoughts.

You are not the intellect.

You are not the spiral body.

Be a witness all the time and mind will be at your command. Sun will shine and ever-lasting joy will be in life.
