WISH YOU ALL HAPPY NEW YEAR

With the blessings of Gurudev Shri Swami Vishvas Ji, may New Year bring peace and prosperity to all, along with the awareness and wakefulness towards our own Source, our own Real Self, which is All Existence, All Knowledge and All Bliss.

Worldly possessions and comforts are so much indispensible, that a man deprived of basic necessities and comforts knows how difficult it is to be impoverished, but unfortunately worldly pleasures are ephemeral. They do not last forever. One who smiles today may have to pine sooner or later.

The real treasure lies within. It is all peaceful and blissful. It is neither joy nor sorrow but that which is in between. It is neither night nor morrow but that which joins them in. The flash of light that will illumine us lies within us. In fact, we are the light that illuminates all scriptures. We are the living books. Outer books are useless to us until our inner living book opens. All other books are good as far as they confirm our inner book, inner knowledge, that is waiting to be explored.

Unfortunately, we are totally unaware of our Source, our own Self, our true Self. We have identified ourselves completely with the body, the mind and the intellect. The mind, body & intellect are ours, they are essential and helpful but we are not the body, the mind or the intellect!

Body is mine __ but I cannot be the body

Mind is mine __  I cannot be the mind

Intellect is mine__I cannot be the intellect.

Then WHO AM I ? I am BEYOND mind, body and intellect. I am All Pure, All Existent and All Bliss. Peaceful and Blissful Realm is WITHIN. To know the Source I have to turn within. I have to embark upon the INNER JOURNEY towards my own Self.

There is perfect peace, perfect silence and perfect bliss at the Source but there is also an adamant wall of mind & ego covering the underlying peace and tranquillity. Sometimes it moves just as moss moves over a lake. The lake is covered with moss and we have to move the moss, to be able to get a clear view of the lake. The pure water of lake is visible but soon the moss covers the lake again. The only solution is, to get rid of the moss. Controlled mind is just like removing the moss from the lake.

Take for instance, a serpent which apparently looks dead, perhaps due to cold. On being warmed up, the snake shows signs of life and begins to hiss and even bite. But if we take the poisonous fangs out of snake, it does not matter whether the snake is sleeping or awake, living or dead, in senses or out of senses. There is no danger then. When there is no poison in it, it becomes harmless, whether it is inactive or active doesn't matter anymore.

Meditation makes our wavering mind harmless, like a snake without poisonous fangs. When the ego is destroyed permanently through regular Vishvas Meditation and we go beyond mind into the state of No Mind, the Separating curtain drops! The result is that He is no longer concealed. He is now All in All. There is none else beside Him.

दिल के आईने में है तस्वीर-ए-यार
जब ज़रा गर्दन झुकाई देख ली

Egoism is destroyed completely through Vishvas Meditation without any strenuous efforts. The destruction of ego and the discovery of peaceful and blissful Realm within (i.e. Godhead) are one and the same. Both are synonym. Let us uproot the idea of egoism from our heart, and develop and plant within us Universal love, so that we may take the Self of all other bodies as our own Self.

They say, "God (Self) is somewhere in the Heaven". That God may catch cold living in Heavens surrounded by clouds. Take Him from there and plant Him in your heart. Here He would be more warm and comfortable. Once planted firmly in our own centre through meditation, we shall have unshakable bliss and perfect peace.

These stars, the moon, the sun, the shining rivers and the worldly beauties are but the fallen pearls of that Reality which is within us. Once, a sweeper collected pieces of gold and jewels from the palace of a queen and offered them to his son. The son said, "I want to see the queen who had such beautiful pearls. Looking at such beautiful pearls, i wonder how beautiful the queen must be!"

So how great is the Master when his creation is so beautiful! That Master resides WITHIN all of us.

ये सैर क्या है अजब अनोखा, कि राम मुझमें मैं राम में हूँ
बगैर सूरत अजब है जलवा, कि राम मुझमें मैं राम में हूँ

Similar feelings are expressed by a Persian poet:

"I have become You and You have become myself. I am the body and You are its soul. Our unity is so perfect that nobody can say that I am different from You."

During Diwali, sugar toys are made. There is a deer made of sugar and a lion made of sugar. Though they are different in name and form but both are made of sugar. Similarly, when an armlet is melted, it can be reshaped into a bracelet or any other ornament. But in the eyes of Truth, it is all gold.

In name and form we may be men, women, beggars or kings, but the Reality behind is All Peaceful and Blissful, and it is the same for everyone irrespective of their caste, color, religion or status. Most importantly, this Reality is not found in the outer world. It lies WITHIN all of us, and it is indestructible & omnipresent.

Alexandra, the great, was impressed with the spiritual personality of a saint and wanted to take him to Greece. He requested, "People in India keep even the jewels like you hidden in obscurity. But in Greece, great importance is attached even to small things. I request you to be gracious enough to accompany me to my country. I shall offer anything you might require but do accompany me."

The saint only smiled and said, "I am happy here. I am omnipresent and beyond space. I need not to go anywhere."

Alexandra could not understand and repeated the request and offered some temptations.

Thereupon the saint said,  "Trees provide me fruits and springs fresh sweet water. I do not need anything else".

Now Alexander got annoyed and drew the sword to kill the saint.

Thereupon the saint burst into laughter and said,  "You could never have told such a lie in your life before. I have yet to see a sword which could cut ME. Children make houses out of sand and demolish them when they leave. Nothing happens to the sand. It remains the same as before. Similar is the case with me. This body is like a house of sand. I am the sand, the base, the all pervading. I was never a house. The sand never runs any risk of losing anything. It remains the same all the time. The stars are never separated from light. So you are Myself and I am yourself".

On hearing the saint's retort, sword dropped from the hands of Alexandra and he fell on the feet of the saint and apologised for his arrogance. The saint had realised the peaceful and blissful realm within, which was being expressed through His personality.

If we take up Vishvas Meditation regularly, we can experience the same Peaceful and Blissful Realm WITHIN, that remains untouched and unshakeable by external circumstances, come what may !
